thrashinvasion_ztwpWith a new album behind them and a tour just about to begin, ZT caught up with Nige Rockett from legendary UK thrashers Onslaught for a few words.

ZT: You are doing the biggest production to date for the upcoming tour – what can people expect?
NR: Yeah, that’s the plan. We are taking a cool light show out on the road, which is something we’ve not done for many years, so it’s long overdue. We’re investing the whole budget back into the stage production. We’re real excited about the upcoming tour, if all goes to plan it’s gonna look awesome.

ZT: Tell us about the live DVD plans for the tour?
NR: We’re gonna be filming, one way or another at all the UK /Ireland tour dates, getting fan footage and some incidental kinda stuff; but we will be professionally filming / recording at the Bristol & London shows respectively. The DVD is planned for release in December, via our label AFM Records and will include concert footage / interviews / gear rundowns and lots of other cool shit.

ZT: Do you have a personal favourite song to play live?
NR: For me personally, I really love playing the track “Killing Peace” live; it’s one of those songs that you can really snap the neck to. It has so much energy and of course it’s amazing to hear the crowd let rip on the “Spitting Blood In The Face Of God” line; it always brings a smile to my face.

ZT: Any message for the fans?
NR: Of course..I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our wonderful fans for the huge support we have received from you guys/ladies throughout our career; it really does mean a lot to everyone involved with Onslaught and we owe you everything. It’s always a very, very special experience for us when we play ‘at home’; we don’t do it very often and it’s always incredible. These will be the last Onslaught UK / Ireland tour dates until 2016, so please don’t miss out. It’s gonna be a huge blast of violence and a lot of fun. We really wanna show the rest of the World that this is the home of metal and that the UK / Ireland metalheads can really tear it up with the best of them on the new DVD..!!
