Swedish black metal giants Marduk have unveiled they are working on a new album entitled Frontschwein which is set to be released in early 2015.
Announcing the news on their Facebook page this will be the band’s thirteenth album and first full-length since 2012’s Serpent Sermon.
Apparently Frontschwein is an amusing, ironic or derogatory term for a frontline soldier (and unfortunately doesn’t have much to do with an old PC game with a similar name).
The band also posted a couple of pictures from the studio so work is well and truly underway on the album, which will also celebrate the band’s 25th anniversary. Hopefully it will live up to expectation in two ways. One by arriving in January as they intend and two by blowing our ears off.
