Dave Lombardo (former drummer of Slayer in case you somehow didn’t know) will play in Adelaide Festival as part of the Bladerunner trio. Bladerunner have five dates confirmed for the festival, from March 11 to March 15, 2014.
Dave Lombardo is one of the most renowned drummers in heavy metal, and not without good reason, always striving to experiment; just take bands like Fantomas, PHILM, Vivaldi-the-Meeting, all featuring Lombardo’s thundering strikes.
With his new project Lombardo distances himself further from the thrashing mayhem he helped create. Bladerunner is an avant-garde band that creates music “both urgent and succinct, scrambled and ferocious, lush and atmospheric”. The trio is headed by John Zorn and completed by Bill Laswell.
