Greg Ginn’s seminal hardcore punk band Black Flag will take to a field in Kent at the fifth annual Hevy Fest in 2013 (held over the weekend of August 2nd – 4th) and in doing so will make their first appearance on UK soil in almost 30 years. The lineup will feature former singer Ron Reyes handling vocal duties. Reyes originally joined Black Flag after Keith Morris left in 1979 to form the Circle Jerks, finishing his own [first] stint with the band in 1980. A statement from Hevy’s official site reads:
“There is a whole generation of musicians and fans that would cite BLACK FLAG as being the most important band to have influenced them, without ever even having the chance to see them perform live, until now….”
Hevy Fest is held at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park during August 2-4
