Stoner rock pioneers Fu Manchu will be hitting the road for a US coast-to-coast spring tour, including two stops in Canada for Toronto and Montreal. The tour coincides with an announced May release for the band’s first studio album in five years titled Gigantoid, via their own record label At The Dojo.
From southern California, Fu Manchu were essential in the creation of the stoner rock genre, along with Kyuss and Monster Magnet. The band is ‘70s metal and hardcore punk infused heavy fuzz-rock with easy-going vans shoes-wearing lifestyle themes like skateboarding and custom vehicles. Fu Manchu will celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2015, and their 1st LP, No One Rides For Free, was recently re-mastered and reissued through the At The Dojo record label marking the album’s 20th anniversary. Details for purchase are on Fu Manchu’s Facebook page.
Updated tour dates are here, and listen to ‘Robotic Invasion’ below, a song recorded in August last year for a Scion AV sponsored split seven-inch with MOAB.
