As part of their appearance at HMV’s Next Big Thing at the HMV Ritz in Manchester this weekend, Evile plan to debut ‘In Memoriam’ live as an aural tribute to Woods of Ypres front-man David Gold who sadly passed away in late December last year.
The line-up for the event will feature Earache label mates and fellow shredders Savage Messiah as well as Scottish death metal crew Cerebral Bore, Woods of Ypres were also scheduled to be on the bill but due to the tragic, untimely death of Gold were forced to pull out. In a statement to Earache, Evile’s lead axe-man Ol Drake had this to say about both debuting ‘In Memoriam’ and The Woods of Ypres front-man, “We were all deeply saddened to hear the news of Woods of Ypres’ mastermind David Gold passing away. Their obvious cancellation of the Manchester show left a big hole in the line-up I was so looking forward to seeing and being a part of. We’ve been thinking of airing ‘In Memoriam’ live for a while, so we’d like to not only play the song for our own reasons, but to also play it at the upcoming Manchester show in memory of David.”
