EVANGELIST: DEBUT ALBUM OUT NOW

Allegedly the first ever classic epic/doom metal band to emerge from Poland, Krakow-based duo Evangelist, have now announced the release of their debut album ‘In Partibus Infidelum’ via Austrian PsycheDOOMelic Records. The Evangelists indicate the six tracks it contains will appeal to every Candlemass and other traditional doom metal bands’ fans and hope the album will help make some name for the band.

“When we started doing songs in the beginning of 2008, there was no doom metal scene in Poland whatsoever, no bands, no press, virtually nothing – barren wasteland. We just knew our songs were strong and good enough to be released via good, doom profiled label. We sent some submission mails to selected labels and Márk from psycheDOOMelic was the fastest and most concrete, his offer was satisfying and from that point everything went fast and smooth. Feedback is positive, sure we’re gaining recognition as the first signed epic doom metal band from Poland, but we don’t rest on our laurels. We’re moving onwards and working on new songs. We aim at recording session this fall, so expect freezing moon this doomy winter!”

A few tracks from ‘In Partibus Infidelum’ can be streamed at the band’s MySpace profile: www.myspace.com/evangelistdoom.
