English doom metallers The Wounded Kings return with their fourth full-length, Consolamentum. The new album, the band’s debut for Candlelight Records, will be available for preorders via ITunes and other digital platforms from 13 January 2014.

Consolamentum is the second recording of singer Sharie Neyland with the band. It is also the band’s second collaboration with producer Chris Fielding (Electric Wizard, Conan, Primordial, Mourning Beloveth etc.). Fielding comments: “The entire album was recorded and mixed in six days during the hottest week of the year in a studio miles from anything in the Cornish countryside. Recorded completely live, it captures the natural feel of the band. I find it to be a real step forward musically and very rewarding.”

Guitarist and band founder Steve Mills has described the album as The Wounded Kings’ “most expansive and heaviest”, putting a smile on fans’ faces.
