CANDLELIGHT PICK UP SHRAPNEL

UK thrash five-piece Shrapnel have signed with Candlelight Records and are set to release their debut album in early 2014.

Not to be confused with two other thrash bands from Australia and a Welsh punk outfit with the same name (or an actual chunk of metal) Shrapnel hail from Norwich and formed back in 2009, releasing their first EP ‘No Saviours’ that same year.

Understandably they’re over the moon about the deal and said: “We’re unbelievably happy to be able to finally announce our signing to Candlelight Records. They’ve put out records from some of our favourite bands, so we’re extremely excited to be working with them. Stay tuned for news regarding the release of ‘The Virus Conspires’. Cheers to everyone who has helped us this far, and we look forward to the future with Candlelight!”

Proud fans of classic thrash such as Testament and Exodus but not afraid to throw in a few death metal influences, they’ve already knocked up a few support slots with Suicidal Tendencies, Sepultura and played Bloodstock this year. With thrash metal apparently running through their veins, debut album ‘The Virus Conspires’ is set to be a fast affair when, all being well, it lands early next year.
