BUZZOV*EN TO HEADLINE ROADBURN FESTIVAL 2014

Reformed sludge kings Buzzov*en have been unveiled as Thursday night headliners along with a further five names announced for the Netherlands’ top underground festival next year.

Curated by Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt for the first time, New Keepers Of The Water Towers, Corrections House, Lumerians, 40 Watt Sun and The Body have also been added to the once again impressive bill. Headlining the 013 venue in Tilburg, this will be Buzzov*en’s debut appearance in Europe (even if Kirk Lloyd Fisher is their only remaining original member).

Posting on Facebook the band said: “That’s right fuckers…we’re BAAACCKKKKK! Prepare yourself for the guttural onslaught from the sludge MF’n forefathers. We may be aging but I’m still pissed, poor and in need of constant therapy and this falls into well….ALL those categories. Many thanks to Walter and the Roadburn crew for inviting us and making this an awesome opportunity. We will be there……NO FUCKING DOUBT!!! Welcome to Violence Europe!”

Roadburn virgins New Keepers Of The Water Towers and The Body will be making their debuts at the festival, while Corrections House (featuring members of Neurosis, Eyehategod, Minsk and Yakuza) shall be doing two special performances. The first will be together as Corrections House on Thursday and the second will be individual performances by each member on the Friday.

The Body said on Facebook: “It’s official. We’ll be taking a freight ship over to Europe. We’re going to try and hit up everywhere since who knows how often we’re gonna be able to sail there and back.”

40 Watt Sun make a much-anticipated return and spaced out psych-rockers Lumerians even managed to get it together to release a small statement indicating their elation about being on the bill, saying: “The Lumerian lander will be touching down at Roadburn Festival next April! We’re beyond excited.”

Roadburn takes place for three days from Thursday 10th until Saturday 12th April 2014 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands. There will also be an Afterburner event on the Sunday. Tickets are available here at €165 for three days, € 185 for four, or €32.50 for just the Sunday event.  For more information check out the Roadburn Festival website.
