The infamous Varg is at it again. Seemingly his prison time wasn’t spent just twiddling his thumbs as it’s just been announced that the 9th Burzum album, entitled Fallen, will be out on the 7th of March this year. Following up on the critically acclaimed Belus which brought forth a lot of controversy, Fallen is said to be more akin to the earlier Burzum works than the Filosofem-esque Belus. “Musically Fallen is like a cross between Belus and something new, inspired more by the debut album Det Som En Gang Var than by Hvis Lyset Tar Oss or Filosofem. The sound is more dynamic – we mastered the album as if it was classical music – and I was more experimental than I was on Belus in all respects.” Fallen will also include ambient tracks similar to the last two albums before Vargs incarceration.
