As we’re busy twiddling our thumbs it’s come to our attention that Turkey’s Zifir – signed to Norway’s Duplicate Records – are planning on releasing a series of videos to complement their ambient output; music they feel represents an “aspect of the band”, but one such that hasn’t found its way onto any of their past four full-length albums.
With downtime between their latest release – January’s Demoniac Ethics full-length – and whatever they’ve got planned next, the band have conjured up some time to fill in a void. Rather than provide some escapism, they’ve opted to produce a series of pieces for which they’ll release accompanying visuals, the first is entitled Illet, “a dark, malevolent soundtrack that reflects the current pandemic situaton in which humanity finds itself.”
