ANTISECT announce shows and reissue plans

Recently reformed crust punk pioneers Antisect have announced new live shows and plans to reissue and rerecord some of their material.

“Antisect, for most people, will never be just about the music. It was always more than that”, founding member and guitarist Pete Lyons said.

The band were recently in Scandinavia playing their first shows in 24 years and over the next three months will rattle skulls in Belgium, Uk and the Czech Republic  (see below for details). In addition, Southern Records plans to reissue their classic 1983 debut ‘In Darkness There is No Choice‘, although the UK-based label has yet to confirm a date. And Antisect will have a new limited edition 10″ of re-recorded and unreleased material available at their upcoming gigs.

Emerging from the anarcho-squat scene of the early eighties, Antisect put out their first demos in 1982 before putting out their hugely influential “In Darkness…” album the following year. The band then went on to cut “The Out From the Void” EP and a live split with another legendary UK crust band, Sacrilege, before splitting in 1987, although posthumous live records have followed since.
