Controversial Anal Cunt frontman, Seth Putnam, has died of a suspected heart attack, aged 43. Putnam gave plenty of reasons to hate him with his undiscriminating lyrical bile attacking women, gays, jews and mentally challenged alike as well as his generally unhinged live performances, and needless to say not everyone will be sad to see he has shuffled off this mortal coil.
AxCx’s publicist, Kim Kelly of Catharsis PR, comments; “I want to remind everyone that no matter how outrageous and controversial his musical career has been, Seth was still a human being with friends and family that loved him. I’m hoping that the Internet will remember that. This is a very sad and trying time for those that knew him, and the last thing they need to see is an outpouring of message board hate. The man lived and died by his own rules; if anything, respect him for that.”
Putnam was hospitalised in 2004, having slipped into a coma when he overdosed on a mixture of crack, heroine, alcohol and sleeping pills. He, himself, noted the irony having written a song titled ‘You’re In A Coma’ nine years earlier, being quoted as saying “being in a coma was just as fuckin’ stupid as I wrote it was”.
