Amebix return with first album in 24 years

24 years since their Monolith release, British crust legends Amebix will return with their third full-length album, entitled ‘Sonic Mass,’ on September 20th, 2011.

Recorded at Rock Cottage (Derbyshire) and Lodge Studios (Northampton) with Roy Mayorga on production duties, the new songs promise to; “enthrall and inspire longtime fans and new converts alike.”

According to a press statement from the band, the album is as dark, crushing, and honest as anything on their classics Arise! and Monolith, but imbued with a lifetime of hardship, raw emotion, and eternal hope, Sonic Mass is the album AMEBIX have always wanted to create.

The band reformed in 2008, playing a handful of gigs and in 2010 brought out the ‘Redux’ EP which featured live and rerecorded versions of classic tracks ‘Winter,’ ‘Chain Reaction’ and ‘Arise.’
