2015 is shaping up to be a big year for 40 Watt Sun. Along with a new album, they will be taking their inimitable brand of rock music on tour this autumn, much to the delight of fans who rarely get to witness their extraordinary music live.
They have recently confirmed they will be playing at St Pancras Church in London 4th September, The Corporation in Sheffield 6th September and making an appearance at Damnation Festival in Leeds, on the 7th November. Aside from the UK, they will be playing Bologna 18th September and Milan 19th September, as well as an appearance at Blowup Festival in Helsinki on 17th October.
Expect to hear songs off the forthcoming album – as aside from a heart-wrenching rendition of “Restless”, the opener from their debut album, The Inside Room, the only songs played at their show in Birmingham this March were new ones. If the gig in March is anything to go by, the band will opt for a more restrained approach to their sonic palette, rather than the wall of sound which characterized The Inside Room.
