Demonhood Productions have set May 13th as the release date for the debut album of Norwegian black metal unit VITHR (“Viðr”, meaning “tree” in ancient Norwegian). The record will be entitled “Hedensk Skikk Og Tro”, with the press release stating: “with strong roots in pagan tradition and beliefs, the band are carrying a message of a lost age when forces of nature were feared and held in awe. Musically, Vithr have their feet firmly planted in traditional Norwegian black metal, yet with their very own take on the style, including folk elements, clean vocals and a distinctly norse atmosphere.”
The album will be released as a jewelcase CD with 12-page booklet. Cover art and design by Robert Høyem (At The Ends). Mastered by Magnus Devo Andersson at Endarker Studio (Marduk, Ofermod, Griftegård).
The title track off the album is available for streming at the band’s official MySpace page.
