SANCTUS BELLUM ANNOUNCE CD RELEASE

Sanctus Bellum, the classic doom band hailing from Houston, TX, have set 12 June 2012 as the release date for their sophmore album, “The Shining Path.”  This release is the band’s follow-up to 2010’s “Return to Dust” and is the first Sanctus Bellum album to feature second guitarist Maurice Eggenschwiler.  “The Shining Path” was recorded and mixed by Joe Omelchuck at RBI Recording beginning in late November 2011.  According to the band, a studio malfunction brought the recording process to a halt for roughly 5 weeks until the proper repairs to equipment could be made.  Still, the final result is nothing less than a solid metal album sure to please the listener.

“This album represents a significant progression for us,” says founding bassist Ben Yaker.  “We’ve really developed as songwriters in the two years since we released Return to Dust and I think that the results speak for themselves.”  The development spoken of is the band’s concentration on more guitar harmonies and classic metal song structures.  “We really went for broke with this one,” adds Yaker, “I think people are going to be very pleased with this album.”

Tracks for the album can be previewed via the bands YouTube channel, as well as The Obelisk.  Pre-orders are currently available at www.sanctusbellum.bigcartel.com.

Sanctus Bellum will be performing tracks from the album at the bands upcoming shows which includes supporting Saint Vitus in Houston, TX on 31st May at Fitzgerald’s, as well as the band’s appearance at the Days of the Doomed II Festival on 15th June.  An official CD release show is scheduled for 21st July at the Concert Pub North in Houston.
