Release news round-up: Vio-Lence, Maze Of Terror, Bloodphemy, Shrieking Demons & Veilburner!

As the title suggests, there’s some excellent releases on the way from a raft of bands, so to keep you in the loop, here’s a very quick run-down of some that have caught our attention at ZT HQ.

Metal Blade recently revealed details of none other than Vio-Lence‘s upcoming Let The World Burn EP, their first original release since 1993’s Nothing To Gain. The EP – recorded with Juan Urteaga at Trident Studios in Pacheco, CA, with mixing handled by Tue Madsen – isn’t due for release until early-2022 (!!!). We’re pretty sure it’ll be worth the wait… Vocalist Sean Killian elaborates:

“Life is meant to be lived and during that one life you have an opportunity to truly create memories for yourself and people who share the same time on this planet as you do. For 33 years, a creation called Eternal Nightmare has been making memories for people around the world. Now, it is time to create some new memories in 2021, and Vio-Lence has now done that for me, and I’m hoping for you too. This resurrection was started in 2019 with a simple text that stated, ‘Let’s do a show’. At that moment, these five original songs began. I am very proud of the new music we created, and we are fortunate to have worked with some very creative people. Juan Urteaga, who was able to push the band to the edge of insanity to capture the intensity we as a band have always brought to people through our music and our live performances. Tue Madsen put a special touch on our unique mania and brought raw perfection to our sound. Nothing too polished here, unless fragments of glass and broken razor blades are what you consider polished. I love to create, and we hope your heads explode when you hear the new Vio-Lence. Thanks to everyone involved, and especially Metal Blade Records, for giving Vio-Lence the opportunity to blow your minds.”

Dutch death metallers Bloodphemy have signed with Emanzipation Productions for the release of their fourth studio album, Blood Sacrifice, slated for release on 3 September – promising “cavernous deep roaring vocals, heavy slow crawling dirges, and up-tempo psychotic slaughtering providing heavy listening that hits you in the chest and to bang your skull heavy!”. If that tickles your fancy, pre-orders are available from https://targetshop.dk/bloodphemy and the first track teaser, ‘Bloodbourne’, is available to listen to here: https://orcd.co/bloodphemy_bloodborne

Peruvians Maze Of Terror have just revealed details of their second album, the wonderfully pissed off sounding Offer To The Fucking Beasts . You can listen to the first advance track – ‘Angels Of Acid’ – right below as you wistfully admire their grim cover artwork, supplied by US artist Karl Dahmer… The album will see the full light of day on CD and digital formats via Xtreem Music on 26 August 2021.

30 July 2021 will mark the international release date via Caligari Records of Diabolical Regurgitations.… the debut EP from Shrieking Demons. Drawing comparisons to Autopsy/Abscess, Decomposed and Dream Death in their PR blurb, they’ve a lot to live up to – but fear not, a brand-new track, ‘Hidden Cathedral Of Diseases’ , is available to listen to right now via Caligari’s Bandcamp: https://caligarirecords.bandcamp.com/album/diabolical-regurgitations – so you can form an opinion all of your very own and pre-order the release should you feel so inclined.

Shrieking Demons

And finally for now, Pennsylvania’s Veilburner – a firm favourite in some quarters of our writing team – have just annnounced via their label – the prolific Transcending Obscurity Records – that the follow-up to their 2018 album will be laid bare sooner rather than later. Lurkers In The Capsule Of Skull will be unleashed on 24 September 2021, and with promises of delivering “twisted, brain-warping, consciousness-altering death/black metal” we’ll be at the front of the queue for a listen… And so you can be too as the title track is available to listen to below.
