NEW GODFLESH RECORD SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE IN MAY

Industrial noisemongers Godflesh are due to start recording their new full-length opus this coming winter, with the release scheduled for May 2014. Tentatively entitled “A World Lit Only By Fire”, the album will be the band’s first since Godflesh disbanded in 2002 and their subsequent reunion in 2010. In an interview with MetalSucks, Justin K. Broadrick commented on the progress of the new record stating:

“It’s almost entirely demoed now and we aim to record and mix it in the winter months, appropriately! It’s really taken some time to get this album in shape. I never wanted to rush this new album, but it will definitely be released in May 2014!”

When asked about the musical direction of “A World Lit Only By Fire” Broadrick replied:

“It’s very much like the Godflesh of old, as in the first few albums, up to and including ‘Selfless’. It’s brutal, minimal, direct, punishing, unforgiving, surreal, discordant, and so on! But it also has a few songs with hip-hop beats, quite like ‘Pure’ but much bigger!”
