The band creates poetic black metal dirges that twist with cold, raw atmospheres. Despite its formation in 1998, Sun Of The Sleepless will release its full-length debut “To the Elements” in 2017, following the split EP with Nachtmahr (2004), the band’s debut EP “Poems to the Wretches Hearts” (1999) and the coveted 7″ “Tausend Kalte Winter” released in 2000.
Speaking about the track, Schwadorf explains it is “A song to the forest. Pagan and anti-religious in its very essence. The forest is my church and has always been – since as long as I remember it has been the place I find rest and fullfilment. I let my spirit travel and be one with myself and what surrounds me. I am really digging the simplistic yet very deep and poetic lyrics of this one. Musically obviously Darkthrone (note the “Under a funeral moon” vocal delay) and Ulver, but I also get some Masters of Reality kind of vibes from it. Probably the most catchy song of the album yet with a very deep and meaningful essence to me.”
