EXTRA DATE ADDED TO BLASTFEST 2015

unnamedOne of Norway’s newest and most promising events, Blastfest, has been the focus of much attention in recent months, as momentum has been gathering and its line up solidifying. Recently, organisers let slip that the 2015 edition is now to run for an additional date, making it a 4 day festival! Oh, and a few more tasty acts were added to the bill in the process.

.

The organisers posted the following statement on the extended duration: “Blastfest has accepted the challenge and has delivered! It is official, Blastfest will be even bigger! With very positive results and excitement of a recent poll, the Bergen, Norway festival have decided 3 days of metal madness wasn’t enough and have expanded the festival into a 4 day event… running from Wednesday February 18th to Saturday February 21st”.

.

Along with this, Gehenna’s inclusion to the line up was announced. The Stavanger black metallers have long been regarded as one of the most important acts to come out of the Norwegian scene in the ‘90s and they look set to cast spells over Bergen this February. Joining them, are fellow countrymen Blood Red Throne, who shall be bringing their brutal brand of death metal to the fold. British melodic black/death troupe, Hecate Enthroned, have booked their ticket across the North Sea and are set to make their Blastfest debut, along with Norwegian death-thrashers Wyrus.

.

This news is certain to make any extreme metal fan’s ears prick up and is complimentary to an already impressive line-up, including the likes of Destruction, At The Gates, Borknagar, Primordial, Rotting Christ, Impaled Nazarene, Morgoth, Asphyx, Sarke, Demilich, Satan, Destroyer 666 & many more!

.

Blastfest is set to take place in Bergen, Norway from 18 – 21 February 2015. With 4 venues and a total of 60 bands on offer, it looks to be an action-packed weekend!
