BRAZILIAN THRASHERS INFESTATIO RELEASE NEW VIDEO IN TRIBUTE TO THE LATE JEFF HANNEMAN

It’s hard to believe that four years have gone since the devastating news of Jeff Hanneman’s death spread throughout the metal world. Fitting then that a band who wear their Hanneman influence on their sleeve should think to pay tribute to one of extreme music’s most revered musicians. And that’s exactly what Brazil’s Infestatio do so here with the simply titled ‘Jeff’ which you can watch below. The video was edited by guitarist Renato Jafet and the song was recorded at Wink studio and produced by Rafael Neves and Caio Picolotto;  mastering was carried out at Sterling Sound Studio (Lamb Of God,...

QUEENSRYCHE VOCALIST TODD LA TORRE ON PAW PATROL

In some heart-warming news, Queensryche vocalist / humanitarian, Todd La Torre came to the rescue of a stray dog while he was holidaying in Greece with family. Posting on his official Facebook page, La Torre said: “Didn’t know if it had a broken leg, back, hip, or just very sick.” Whatever the problem, the singer was determined to do what he could to find out, making sure the dog was not alone, and he continues: “After going back to the house and getting some chicken and water, it drank very little. With some careful assessment, she seemed passive and not aggressive. Carefully, we were able to pick her up and we...

SWEDEN’S SHINING COMPLETE WORK ON THEIR TENTH STUDIO ALBUM

“It has been an ordeal of gigantic proportions, but I am pleased to announce that the recording of our tenth album has now come to an end,” says a relieved Niklas Kvarforth on completing Shining‘s latest full-length, X – Varg Utan Flock [trans: Wolf Without A Pack).  Being the musical equivalent to a jar of extra-strength Marmite, this news will be music to some people’s ears, but will no doubt be a cause of great annoyance for others. Does Kvarforth and the rest of the band care? Probably not, and the frontman continues: “I am currently working on the final visual details before this aural nightmare can...

YORKSHIRE’S KULL UNLEASH A TRACK FROM THEIR LONG-AWAITED ALBUM

Six long years have passed since Bal-Sagoth‘s memorable (for all the wrong reasons) London show during which their inimitable frontman Byron Roberts disappeared after soundchecking at the venue, and the band were forced to take to the stage with the help of audience members filling in on vocals. It was nothing short of surreal really, and moreover, really sad as the rest of the band were on top form. And so rose Yorkshire’s Kull, formed in 2012 from the ashes of Bal-Sagoth they feature four of the former’s members – Chris Maudling, Jonny Maudling, Alistair MacLatchy, and Paul “Wak” Jackson – and after a long...

TOM GABRIEL FISCHER DISCUSSES CELTIC FROST REISSUES

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, then it won’t have escaped your notice that Celtic Frost’s seminal discography is, at last, being reissued. The core albums of Morbid Tales, To Mega Therion, Into The Pandemonium and Vanity / Nemesis were previously reissued by Noise Records at the very end of last century; this time, the reissues are far more elaborate. The albums have been fully remastered and lavishly repackaged. Tom Gabriel Fischer has been heavily involved in the reissues since their inception but, as is now well documented, has since removed his endorsement from the project. He explains...

ZT PREMIERE: KAFIRUN UNLEASH ESCHATON

ZT in association with Seance Records bring you an exclusive stream of the new Kafirun album Eschaton. On June 26th internationally, Seance Records is proud to present Kafirun‘s highly anticipated debut album, Eschaton. A deeply occultic work, Eschaton explores the end of the manifested world – an apocalypse that brings the end of all life and begets the opening of a new beginning through death – and opens this portal through thoroughly dizzying, manically majestic black metal. Finding that elusive balance between the resolutely raw ‘n’ primitive and the dynamically complex, Kafirun create a constantly...
